Reject Dreams

Reject Dreams is an independent record label founded and run by the rapper ARTZ. We are the label's long-term creative team. When a song is ready, we shoot and edit the music video, document the shoot behind the scenes, and cut the clips and promo that carry the release on social, so every drop looks like it came from the same label.

Behind the Planning: Tan Seats

Every Reject Dreams video starts on paper. For Tan Seats, Jaiel and ARTZ planned the whole video in an eight page treatment before shoot day. The pages stay blurred, but this is how the video went from an idea to a release.

  1. The ideaARTZ brings the song. We talk through the story, the places and the feel until the video has a clear shape.
  2. The treatmentJaiel writes it all down: every scene planned with a reference image, so everyone on set sees the same video before a frame is shot.
  3. The shootThe day runs off the plan, with photos taken alongside the video so the release has stills to match.
  4. The edit and the releaseWe cut and color it in house, then deliver the video with the clips and promo that carry the drop.

On Stage

When ARTZ performs, we cover the show: the set, the crowd and a recap the label can post the next day. This one was at The New Parish in Oakland, California.

Rollout Content

Short vertical clips cut from each video and shoot, with the lyrics on screen, so every release has content for Instagram, TikTok and Stories before and after it drops.

Behind the Scenes

We film the making of the video too, so the release has a second story to tell. Here is the set of Truthfully, from lighting the room to the shot itself.
